Marriage......in Syfnos!

Yesterday we were invited to a dinner party, and we met my first cousin's wife...
I have a lot of first cousins, and he is the youngest... So, the new couple got married on Syfnos, in a romantic ceremony, and we were invited to get to know her, since she is from another part of the country..
This is something new for us, and I mean the Greeks.
Our traditional way is to invite both families and friends after the ceremony and have dinner.
Actually, I don't know how else to call it.... a reception, .....no.......a huge wedding party....maybe....
Anyway, as I have learnt , the new trend is to get married on an island, on a traditional and romantic island, and then back home, to have something simple for relatives, collegues and friends..
Of course, the amount of money which you are willing to spend , plays an important role..The most important , I must say....
The new couple is happy and in love, and they have our best and most sincere wishes for their future life...
Every Saturday I am so tired that I can't even think of going out.. I just want to sleep and get some rest...a lot of rest...
On the other hand, if I had somewhere to go, I am sure that I would differently.
If you have an exciting trip ahead, places to see, things to do, and people to speak to, then you don't think of your tireness so much...

The weather is changing.....

and getting colder and colder....A nice winter is aproaching us full of expectations for the forthcoming Christmas holidays..
Presents that we won't recieve or give- due to the recent economic crisis- festivities, which won't take place- for the same reason - and so on, so forth....
Nonetheless, the spirit of Christmas is in our soul and a warm heart is the best present...
The wind is blowing hard and a gloomy sky is hanging above our roofs. It's the perfect weather to write poems and to eat cakes...I can't do either of them. The first because it's nature's fault, and the later because I have already eaten a lot...so the results are obvious.....

Our new goverment!

Our brand new socialist government, are totally nuts! All of them!!
They want to reform everything, but they do all the wrong things to achieve it..
For example they had told that they would help the poor! Instead, the throw people out of the STAGE programs, without planning something for them first...
Of course, and PASOK and NEA DIMOKRATIA, the right party, so to speak, used these programs for all the wrong reasons, but is this the poor people's fault?
No pension, no insurance, very little money for years in posts where they supposed to be for just some months, and now they are thrown out in the most insensitive way possible.....
I don't like it at all!
I think that they should have reformed others sectors of our finances, and after having created a stable working environment, to transfer them or to help them find a new proper job.
A caring leadership would act otherwise.....
More wisely!

You should change friends...

One of my students told me the other day, that she dislikes plants, and I told her that she had to change friends!! The funny thing is that she answered, Yes, I know!!

I miss writing in my greek blog....The truth is that I am so occupied with chores and lessons that I don't have any time...

There has been a torrential rain for some time..It can be a little scary at times...
When I see the roads become rivers and the sky lower so much, then I really feel the power of the nature..and I start to believe all over again...

Something that really bothers me, is to see my body changing...not for the better, though!
I get old..and I have put fat around my once thin waist....What a pity! Nothing stays the same, neither the good ones, nor the bad....In the river of change and transformation we are just like small paper boats floating on the water of time having the fate , as the only skipper...

I am hooked!

I recently closed my Greek blog. That was a little painful but I had to as it took a lot of my time.
It was not only that...it was a circle that it had to stop.
It feels weird after so long loosing e-friends, communicating with people all over the world....
Anyway, we will see.
Here is different. Nobody writes to me, I have no obligation to write back to anyone, it is just like goinh on vacation to a whole new place....
